About the Silversmith

David began his career as a 'sole proprietor' at the age of 23 after training 'apprenticeship style'
for 5-years in the art of metalsmithing.  David was located in Southern California from 1972 until
2006 when he moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest community of Bellingham, Washington

David was the Expert that many celebrities, VIP's, Antiques dealers and serious collectors in Los
Angeles sought out regularly.  David has an extensive knowledge of metalsmithing and silver
antiques and a personal interest in the history of decorative arts and metalware.  David has a
library filled with texts and referrence books about the history of silver, silversmithing and
antiques.  He is glad to share his knowledge in regards to your personal items.

David has restored, repaired and replated everything from garbage disposal damaged flatware
to important museum pieces (see references).   Friedman Silversmiths is one of the few shops
ready to answer your questions and give your treasured items personal attention in repair,
restoration and replating.

For the past 10-years, David and his wife Paula have been a husband and wife team at Friedman
Silversmiths.  A new work studio and plating facility has been completed in Bellingham,
Washington.
